Spot Process / VueRite (SPVR)

Is by far the industry’s leading separation software. This stand alone color separation and color adjustment software was designed to use with all applications that create DCS2.eps or .tif files.

Color separating was once exclusive to Photoshop users only but is now available for Corel Draw users as well. Since SPVR is a stand alone application it is no longer reliant on Adobe Photoshop’s tools and poor previews. This is a huge advantage for screen printers that already own a full Corel Graphics Suite of software and do not own Photoshop. Now they can save the 650. it costs to purchase Photoshop and still get the same high quality separations as those that do own it.

Spot Process / VueRite (SPVR) is designed for screen printing from the ground up. It uses “screen printing ink values” to build it’s on screen preview. Adobe Photoshop uses “digital ink values” (transparent inks) to build it’s preview. The images below will illustrate the differences.

While working with SPVR your main objective is to get your image to “look good” on screen and it will “look good” on press. This software is WYSIWYG at it’s best!

SPVR uses the same separation algorithms of Spot Process (developed in 1995). You get mathematical separations that automatically compensate for dot gain, run cleaner on press with less ink build up and is the most accurate reproduction of your original as possible.

This software will give you 3 black channel options to choose from. They are Skeletal, Detailed, and Sharper Black. These have different uses depending on your specific design. For instance, if you want are going to print a Navy Blue shirt and you want to let some of the dark garment color to generate some of the shadow area in a design you would want to use the Skeletal. The Detail Black is the one used most often here at Great Dane Graphics. It is a good black with just enough gray data to work well on just about any color shirt. The Sharper Black would be used if you were going to print on a white shirt and maybe your original file didn’t have much detail or contrast. This black will “pull” as much detail as possible.

SPVR has ALL of this and so much more. We haven’t begun to talk about the color adjustment tools that are built in called VueRite. We’ve only described part of what it can do for you.
